From her humble beginnings in Arkansas, Laura Jean was raised in the world of music, playing gigs with her father and brother from a young age. As soon as she could write, she began to write songs. This passion led to her release of original songs beginning at just 14 years old and eventually to her continued education at Berklee College of Music where she received her Masters in Songwriting. 

 

Today, Laura Jean Carlisle Songwriting is based in Houston, Texas, where Carlisle’s home studio is located. With a rich network of working musicians and writers surrounding her, her passion and drive have continued to grow, as has her capacity for creative work in a professional setting. All these paths have led to the pursuit of collaboration, specifically in the realms of songwriting, tracking and production. Her work is set apart due to her authenticity, vulnerability, and highly collaborative working style. She’s known for her ability to create work that is deeply sentimental, and her ability to add humor and joy to each project.
